It’s 90 degrees — unseasonably warm for late April. Anyone outside is miserable within 10 minutes.
Katherine decides to surprise her parents, who are on their way back from a long vacation in England. She gets to her parents’ house with $50 of groceries for welcome-back dinner plans… and the house is all locked up. You have to understand, their house is almost never locked… it never even occurred to her that they would lock it while gone for a week.
Peter is crying, Katherine is panicking, groceries are spoiling… what to do, what to do? Hey… I wonder if that small kitchen window is unlocked…?
She preps Jack. “Jack — do you think you can get through that window? I need you to be a catburglar. Get into the house and then unlock the door.” She lifts Jack up and through the window. He scoots off the kitchen counter, drops to the floor and, after a little trouble, unlocks the front door. Jack saves the day!
